The BarriAire™ Gold Elite Pro Particulate Hood – Comprehensive Coverage is an advanced protective hood designed to provide firefighters with exceptional particulate protection, outstanding comfort, and unrestricted mobility during structural firefighting operations. Engineered to reduce tugging and pulling away from the SCBA facepiece, the hood features a tapered back, notched shoulder drape, and patterned bib that integrate seamlessly with turnout gear collars and SCBA straps for a secure, comfortable fit.

Designed for comprehensive protection, the hood provides particulate coverage throughout the entire head, including the Sure-Fit™ crown panel and the full bib. This enhanced coverage helps reduce firefighter exposure to hazardous airborne particulates while maintaining flexibility and comfort throughout extended operations.

Constructed from PGI's quilted BarriAire™ composite fabric, the hood features a PFAS-free durable water-resistant exterior finish and a dual-technology antimicrobial and anti-odor treatment on the interior. A Nomex® Nano Flex layer between the fabric layers delivers excellent stretch, recovery, and long-lasting comfort while maintaining superior performance in demanding environments.

With an industry-leading air permeability rating of 23 CFM—approximately three to six times greater than traditional PTFE laminated particulate hoods—the BarriAire™ Gold Elite Pro offers exceptional breathability without compromising protection. The hood averages 96% filtration efficiency for particulates between 0.1 and 1.0 microns and has been independently tested to achieve a Viral Filtration Efficiency (VFE) of 96.8% and a Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE) of 97.9%. It also meets NFPA 70E Hazard Risk Category 4 requirements.
